This enchanting riverside hideaway where the Hawea River sets the rhythm of life. With 140 metres of direct river frontage, this rare sanctuary offers the perfect blend of privacy, tranquillity, and natural beauty.

From the moment you arrive, soothing sounds of water, birdsong, and leaves rustling gently in the trees invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and feel the serenity of this magical setting. Another world, and yet only a few minutes from town.

The River House itself is spacious and inviting with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a loft, and an office that provide room for family and guests. Open plan living integrates effortlessly with established parklike grounds where hidden nooks and sheltered spaces offer comfort with a deep connection to the landscape and the river.

Crafted in a timeless solid construction with exposed timber beams reclaimed from a West Coast wharf, the home’s character is as authentic as it’s setting. Outside, a separate one-bedroom cottage offers further flexibility for guests, caretakers, or extended family.

More than a home, The River House is an opportunity. Fish from the front lawn, swim in your own private water hole, or cultivate the land to grow delicious crops or flowers. Whether you imagine a private family sanctuary, a boutique accommodation business, or a venue for special gatherings, this riverside retreat offers endless possibilities.
